How to turn your hearing aids on and off

Learn how to activate and deactivate hearing aids with rechargeable or disposable batteries.

Before you start

The way to switch hearing aids on and off depends on the type of batteries your hearing aids have.

How to turn on hearing aids that have rechargeable batteries

Press the lower end of the control button or lower control button on each hearing aid for two seconds, until the hearing aid LED light turns green.

After charging, the hearing aids automatically turn on when you remove them from the charger.

The hearing aids are active when you hear two audible beeping sounds.

How to turn off hearing aids that have rechargeable batteries

Press the lower end of the control button or lower control button on each hearing aid for three seconds.

The hearing aids will play four descending tones to indicate they are powering down.

Note: Rechargeable hearing aids automatically turn off when you set them in a charger.

How to turn on hearing aids that have disposable batteries

Ensure a battery is inserted correctly in each battery drawer.

Close the battery drawer to start each hearing aid.

How to turn off hearing aids that have disposable batteries

Open the battery drawer to turn off the hearing aids, and leave it open while they are not in use.
